Visakhapatnam Gets Its Own Mcdonald’s

Visakhapatnam, the port city of Andhra Pradesh that is better known as Vizag, had barely got its share of adrenalin rush in the shape of a major Go-Karting event when more excitement followed with the launch of the city’s very first McDonald’s restaurant.

Visakhapatnam, the port city of Andhra Pradesh that is better known as Vizag, had barely got its share of adrenalin rush in the shape of a major Go-Karting event when more excitement followed with the launch of the city’s very first McDonald’s restaurant.

If social media is something to go by, the city had been waiting for “eons” for a McDonald’s restaurant to come to their city. Especially after the chain arrived in neighbouring Vijayawada and Nellore, Vizag had found it hard to wait. Well, the wait is finally over and all Vizag folks can enjoy McDonald’s delicious offerings – burgers, fries, coke floats and what not!

Though the restaurant’s launch came after the home-grown Baahubali 2 movie franchise’s tie-up with Andhra Pradesh-based McDonald’s, Vizag locals need not feel disappointed when they can still enjoy a burger as big as that blockbuster movie – the Veg Maharaja Mac or the Chicken Maharaja Mac!

What’s more, the McDonald’s (West & South) franchise has launched its ‘Happy Price Combos’ in this city as well, allowing customers to pick and choose their favourite combination of food.

The restaurant, located in CMR Central Mall, in Maddilapalem, sprawls across 3000 square feet of space, and seats 75 people. It also has a party-zone space for kids to celebrate their birthdays.

Though Vizag’s turn came after Vijayawada and Nellore, it got its revenge – a sweet one at that – because it got a bonus offering unlike the former two in the form of a McCafé as part of its restaurant as well. McDonald’s speciality coffee outlet brings to its coffee lovers in the city its range of premium coffees – from cappuccino to iced mocha, latte to frappe. The coffee, made of pure Arabica beans, is what sets this brand’s coffee apart. Not just coffee, there are many varieties of shakes and iced tea too.

According to Gerald Dias, Business Operations Director (South) for Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd, the Westlife Development subsidiary which manages the McDonald’s India (West & South) franchise, the restaurant in Vizag is open from 11 AM to 11 PM, with separate kitchens for vegetarians and non-vegetarians, besides “personalised service with its best-in-class service that is synonymous with the brand’s restaurants worldwide.”

Earlier, another coastal city in Andhra Pradesh – Nellore – saw the launch of a McDonald’s. To a city with a taste for spicy food like ‘pulusu’ and ‘kodikura’, the spicy range of cuisine available on the McDonald’s India (West & South) menu would certainly please the taste-buds!

The third city in Andhra Pradesh with a McDonald’s was Vijayawada, the business capital of Andhra Pradesh. It’s a city that loves to eat out. They like their cuisine spicy and tangy as well.

While vegetarians can enjoy the Vegetarian Maharaja Mac, McSpicy Paneer, McSpicy Paneer Supreme and Big Spicy Paneer Wrap, non-vegetarians can look forward to the Chicken Maharaja Mac, McSpicy Chicken, McSpicy Chicken Supreme, Double McSpicy Chicken and Big Spicy Chicken Wrap.

The folk in the coastal cities can also relish the fish dish from McDonald’s – Filet-o-Fish!
