NISSAN ELECTRIC CAR
With this new second-generation Leaf, Nissan hopes to persuade even more drivers to switch to electric thanks to a greatly-improved range capability and a host of new technology.Nissan claims the Leaf will be bought by a wide cross-section of the public, just like any other hatchback.
It claims buyers aren’t limited to cities and the car isn’t just a second car in a household. However, the majority are bought by private individuals.
Nissan doesn’t give exact figures for sales expectations but the previous Leaf sold 5,600 units in its best year in 2017.
It’s a safe assumption that the Japanese firm will want to sell more of this new model. Not only does the new Leaf have a greater range but the styling is much sleeker, although there are still a few angles where the front looks a little ungainly.
Perhaps the biggest change to the way the car drives comes in the form of a new feature called e-Pedal.
Press a button to activate and it reprograms the accelerator pedal so that when you lift your right foot, the car engages a much higher level of regenerative braking than is otherwise usually available.
In reality, it means you can drive using only one pedal for the majority of the time. This is because pushing the accelerator makes the car go quicker (as normal) but lifting actively slows the car.
Fancy a brand new turbocharged BMW i8 hybrid supercar at a discount that can save you enough to buy a compact Mercedes? Or a marked-down super saloon Maserati Quattroporte that will leave you with enough money for five Maruti Suzuki Balenos?
Yes, these prized and scarce beauties can be bought from Big Boys Toyz (BBT). The rapidly expanding Gurugram-based luxury and exotic car retailer is witnessing a beeline of customers ranging from ace cricketer Virat Kohli to industrialist Sajjan Jindal.
BBT promises a whopping discount of around Rs 40 lakh on a brand new BMW i8. If you are looking for even a sweeter deal then you could even save more than Rs 1 crore on the car provided you don’t mind buying a 2015 (unused, first-hand car) model. While a new 2017 version of the BMW i8 will cost Rs 2.6 crore a 2015 version is priced at Rs 1.55 crore at BBT.
