For many years, Jaguar has represented the pinnacle of British manufacturing. It has an interesting history in which it was founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922. Under the ownership of S. S. Cars Limited however, the business extended to complete cars. The name S. S. Cars was changed to “Jaguar” in 1945.
As these cars are an ideal make, which mixes the luxurious elements of style with speed, class and efficiency, it is no coincidence that just days ago, it was announced that a Jaguar would be among the cars driven by James Bond in the new Bond film Spectre.
The choice makes sense, Bond represents luxury and style. But he is also sporty, athletic and exciting, even a little dangerous.
The Jaguar C-X75 is the car that will escort Bond through his latest adventure. It is a 778bhp four-wheel drive hybrid two-seater concept car. In fact, it was first seen at the Paris Motor Show in 2010. For the average driver though, rather than Bond, even getting hold of one might be tricky.
For a start, this particular Jaguar weighs in with a price hovering close to £900,000. To be blunt, that is way beyond the scope of virtually everyone in the UK. Except for the odd Premiership footballer, or other sporting personality, which given Jaguar’s sporty appeal, might actually be the point.
In terms of more affordable Jaguar used cars, there are plentiful choices, and they won’t disappoint those dreaming of driving a stylish, sporty and luxurious model either.
All you need to do is search the websites of companies having used cars for sale in the UK near you. There is no guarantee that they will turn you into Bond overnight, but they can offer a fantastic, exciting driving experience.
Indeed, with a little hindsight, perhaps, one doesn’t want to remodel every UK driver into a miniature Bond anyway. All the same, Jaguars do represent a wonderful driving option that must be enjoyed. So, just ferret around different stores and websites a bit and plan your next driving adventure.
