The city of Delhi is special in many ways and another reason has been added to the list as the first Myntra MANGO store was launched on the 4th of October at Select City Walk, Saket in Delhi. And the host of the event was the beautiful style-icon, model and actress Ileana D’Cruz. The location of the store is the pace to be in Delhi for shopping, food and drinks. Its centrally-located and perfect for a great shopping experience, with convenience and a lot of fun.
Remember how Ileana enticed us all in the movie Barfi, in which she played a quintessential Bengali woman. Oh the beauty and poise she carried with her. I remember watching her at the theatre and instantly fell in love with her gorgeous sarees and perfect eye liner. I also remember the character she played very well. How she fell in love innocently with Barfi and kept at it until the end, even when barfi had found his partner in Jhilmil. Off course Jhilmil’s part, played by Priyanka Chopra was a performance of another class all together, through which we were introduced to the unfamiliar world of people living with disabilities. Hindi cinema hasn’t been able to deliver a movie around such sensitive subjects in such an amazing way. Not only were the performances beautiful and strong, the story and the direction was on point too. Not to mention that this movie marked a new era in the film industry as there were hardly any dialogues between the main leads of the movie pertaining to their disability.
This is another step that Myntra has taken to make itself the undeniable and all-rounder fashion destination that it hopes to be. The next five years are going to be exciting for all the mango fans in the country, with the launch of about 25 new MANGO stores on cards, by Myntra. We are most excited about the concept of endless aisle that Myntra has come up with for this new store which enables customers to browse collections on a tablet, check out product details and availability of what they like and have it delivered right to their doorsteps! People from other cities need not be disappointed, as many such stores will soon be thrown open, starting with the one at Mumbai’s Phoenix Mall in December, this year.
